Regarding Holy Communion: In order for one to receive Holy Communion in our Church, one must be an Orthodox Christian, who has spiritually prepared to receive the Sacrament. Preparation consists of examination of our conscience, repentance from sin, prayer and fasting from midnight on Saturday until receiving the Holy Eucharist on Sunday morning.

If one is married, one must have had their marriage celebrated in the Orthodox Church to receive Holy Communion. If one's marriage has ended in a divorce, then one must have received an ecclesiastical divorce to receive Holy Communion.
